Their story
Margaret Eleanor Whitfield, known to many as Maggie, passed peacefully at her home in Austin surrounded by family. A children’s librarian for over forty years, she introduced generations of young readers to the worlds inside books. Her garden, her grandchildren, and her insistence on a properly brewed cup of tea will be remembered by all who knew her.

Survived by her husband of fifty-eight years, James; her children Elizabeth and Daniel; and four grandchildren.
